The foundation has been poured!  "Foundation" seems to me to mean floor but I'm told it really means walls--the basement walls, to be exact.

Poured and evened off--with bolts sticking out.  Stan tells me that is how they attach the house to the foundation. Looking south I'd wondered how they were going to keep the cement from spilling out--and now I see the boards they used to cap off the ends.
20061218house01.JPG (121063 bytes) I don't understand this part.  The front corner is the garage- and the part coming into it is the basement.  Why would the garage need such a high foundation wall?  This is one we'll have to ask the builder to explain to us.
