Lighting
Now that the electrical decisions are all made, it's time to figure
out all what lights are going in. There are 61 (yes, really) can
lights in the house. At least we don't have to decide those.
However, there are also places where light fixtures are needed:
- Entry way in the barrel ceiling
- Dining/computer room center fixture
- Above the kitchen table in the breakfast nook
- Two pendants above the peninsula
- Bathroom vanities
- Bedroom center fixtures
- Paddle fan for the great room (may end up waiting)
- Paddle fan for the master bedroom
Shapes |
I think I like the Boulevard and Bolla better than the
slightly more curly shapes of Portofino. |
Pendant |
I like the clean shape of the Portofino mini pendant |
Glass color |
I am drawn to the white, but the champagne glass of
Portofino and Bolla might look better with our cabinets and
floor. |
Finish |
Boulevard is listed as "ORB", which is what door knobs are
going to be. Portofino is listed as Victorian Bronze. ( ).
I'm not sure what "Victorian Bronze" is, really, and how it
relates to ORB, or if two ORB finishes from different companies
are going to look the same. Portofino is called "Oiled
Bronze". |
Nook light |
I like the look of three down pointing shades better than
the look of five of them |
Flush light |
I really like the Bolla flush mount light |
